We began our year by fishing for friends with a fishing
pole! When we were done we had a great catch of 8 new friends.

We learned the rules for our classroom and other rules for around our school.
We practiced
bus safety and sang the song "Wheels on the Bus".
We read the poem "A House is a
House for Me" and talked about all kinds of houses for people and animals to live in. Each of us then drew a picture
of our own house to show others.
All of us are
special and we looked through special glasses to help us tell how we are special. Each of the students colored in a
life sized portrait, that is now hanging in the atrium.
Family
To learn about families we read books, learned finger plays, sang songs, used puppets to tell a story, and colored pictures.
We also made a graph to see how many sisters and brothers we have.
Friends!
We talked about friends and used Sally, Bobby and Wrinkles, the puppets, to role play how to act toward new friends.
Safety!
We learned to recognize many of the signs and people that help
us stay safe.
Reading Buddies
We are getting to know our 3rd grade Reading Buddies
from Mrs. Putz's class. They are doing a great job!
